Have you ever wanted to share your photos with your friends and family? Well there is a simple way to share your photos, edit, and create prints all in one place. I went to www.flickr.com and found that it is one of the fastest ways to share photos with friends and family. Now everyone around the world can see your photos. There are limits that you can set to only allow only let your loved ones to see or to let the public to see.
Once you decide who can see your photos the next step is to upload your photos. Just click on the photos you want and then add them to your page. Once you are done you click download and then in a few minutes your photos are ready to share. You can also add videos with the same process.
Then when you are all done uploading your pictures and videos you can edit them and tag them. Then they are ready for the world or just your friends to see. You can send e-mails to your friends and family telling them where to find your photos. If your friends and family also have a flickr account you can join them in your contact list. Then whenever you or they have new photos you know as soon as they post them. You can also join groups to do an event suck a wedding photos.
Over all I think this is a great tool to use. If I was to go on a field trip with my students I could post photos online and make them available for parents to see. The parents could also post photos of the class and it would be a neat way to share the class experiences. It would be valuable to have pictures from my trips on there too. I could just simply log on and be able to show pictures of cool and interesting things that we are learning in class. Online scrapbooking
I chose to make a scrapbook online. I love to take pictures and this is a great way to share them with my family and friends. I went to www.smilebox.com and downloaded the application. Then I looked threw the layouts and found one I liked. I then added pictures to my scrapbook. It was simple, I did not have to upload the pictures. They were already on the applicaton. Then I went threw and decided where I wanted to put the pictures. Once I was done, I saved it and copied the coded and posted it into my blog.
I think this technology is great for students. They can create projects of different subjects. I think it is simple to use and would be great for students to show their own pictures in their unique way.

Podcasting
I have podcasted a few times in my life. I do not do it as much as other people my age, but I still know how to do it. A person can record something and then post it to a link for others to listen to or view. I have downloaded movies and listened to lessons from class. I learned exactly what it is from http://www.apple.com/itunes/whatson/podcasts/ . There are millions of preloaded material on the apple websight.
I think it can help students that were absent for a day or more, or who have a hard time learning. I could put a podcast on a website for my students and then when they are not at school they can get what they need and get it first hand. I have not seen podcasting used much in the elementary schools, but I do believe that it is going to be a big part of school in the future once teachers start using it more often.
It can also be a great way for teachers to communicate with the parents of their students. If a parent is away and cannot attend a meeting, the meeting can be recorded and posted online for the parents to see. This is way more convenient for everyone.

First Real Blog
Hello my name is Erica and I am a elementary education major. I have one any only one sister. I have many dogs. My family breeds and shows German Shepherds. I have always enjoyed watching and playing sports. I love to take pictures and I always have my camera with me. I was able to download a pic that I took of myself with my computer web cam. It is my display picture.
Today I learned how to use new web tools. Blooger has allowed me to display my interest with layout. I changed my colors under the layout tab on the top left side. You can choose what colors, style, and shape of your blog on here. What I found interesting is that you can add features to your blog. I added the sideshow feature and it has one of my interest on it.
Under setting you can chose who can see your blog. You can also select your e-mail set up. There is security features on there that you can edit to allow everyone or no one to see your blog.
I am really interested to get to know everyone. I hope everyone has a good year!
